DUKE RIM SIERRA 27

Sierra 27 is the most adventure-focused side of the Sierra range: a rim built for long routes, rough terrain and courses with serious elevation gain, where weight, comfort and control matter more than rim depth.

Its 27 mm profile follows a simple logic: reduce inertia, make uphill accelerations easier and preserve a natural feel when the track becomes uneven. On broken paths, technical sections or long days with a lot of climbing, it remains easy to place, less physically demanding and more forgiving than a deeper rim.

Built with the SLR5 process, the road/gravel adaptation of our benchmark SLS5 MTB technology, Sierra 27 combines Toray T1100 fibres, aerospace-grade resin and an optimised lay-up to achieve a high level of lightness without weakening the structure. At 280 g, it is the lightest rim in the Sierra range, with the safety margin required for committed gravel use.

DRC (Dynamic Response Comfort) plays a central role here: it filters vibration, helps maintain grip on broken surfaces and reduces fatigue as the hours in the saddle add up. Moulded spoke holes (SpokeCore) ensure a homogeneous structure, while the Offset geometry balances spoke tension and improves lateral stability without adding weight.

With its 29 mm internal width, Sierra 27 makes full use of modern gravel tyres, from 40 mm up to very large-volume sections. The added tyre volume allows lower pressures, more comfort and better traction on loose tracks, while preserving strong efficiency on faster sections.

AntiPinch beads complete this adventure-focused approach by helping reduce the risk of tyre cuts on impacts, especially at lower pressures or on aggressive terrain. Sierra 27 is not the rim designed to maximise top speed: it is the one that lets you ride far, light and confidently when the terrain becomes uncertain.
