DUKE RIM CORE RR40

Core RR 40 takes its place in DUKE’s new carbon hierarchy as our third tier.

On the road, it sits below the Elite Strada range and below the Performance Baccara X / Baccara RX range. The aim is not to reproduce their most sophisticated processes at a lower cost, but to offer a simpler, well-engineered and more accessible carbon rim that retains the fundamentals of a good DUKE wheel: well-designed geometry and precise assembly.

With a 40 mm depth, 390 g per rim and a 23 mm internal width, Core RR 40 is the more versatile of the two Core RR options. Its profile helps carry speed without becoming demanding in everyday use in terms of weight or crosswind sensitivity.

It is designed around 25 to 28 mm road tyres for optimal use, with compatibility extending up to 2.1 inches. From 1,366 g per pair, it makes sense as a first carbon wheelset, but also as a reliable training wheelset for a rider already equipped with Strada or Baccara.

The 1.5 mm Offset enables an asymmetric spoke layout. This geometry rebalances spoke tension between both sides, improving lateral stiffness, stability and build reliability without a weight penalty. This is particularly relevant on a disc-brake wheel, where balancing loads directly affects the quality of the final build.

Core RR 40 uses a Hooked construction, with bead hooks suited to road tyre pressures. The hook provides optimal mechanical tyre retention and broad compatibility with current setups.

The AntiBurp system complements this retention with internal ridges designed to lock the tyre beads in place: it limits air loss under side loads and helps secure the tyre, including in the event of a puncture.

Finally, the rim is Tubeless Ready: it is compatible with UST and Tubeless Ready standards, supplied with DUKE sealing tape and a tubeless valve, while remaining compatible with an inner tube.

Core RR 40 therefore focuses on the essentials: a versatile, accessible carbon road wheel designed to rack up the miles without compromising ride quality.
